
School of Engineering and Technology
The School of Engineering and Technology (SoET) is a vital academic arm of the University, focused on advancing engineering knowledge, innovation, and technical capacity in support of Tanzania’s development agenda. Rooted in the University’s mission to produce skilled, self-reliant, and job-creating graduates, SoET is committed to preparing the next generation of engineers to solve complex, real-world problems through sustainable and transformative solutions.
SoET oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of academic programmes in engineering and technology. The School is also responsible for research initiatives, outreach activities, and technical consultancy in collaboration with other departments and industry partners. Its goal is to cultivate engineers and technologists with the knowledge, creativity, and hands-on experience necessary to address national priorities in infrastructure, agriculture, water, and environmental management.
Planned Academic Programmes
The School is currently finalizing the development of several undergraduate degree programmes designed to build Tanzania’s capacity in engineering and innovation. Under the Department of Agricultural and Irrigation Engineering, the following programmes are being prepared:

These programmes are developed in response to the country's strategic needs in agricultural modernization, sustainable water resource management, climate change adaptation, and infrastructure development. The curriculum will emphasize experiential learning through laboratory work, design projects, industrial attachments, and community-based innovation challenges.
