World Bank Inspired by the Current Construction Progress at MNUAT Main Campus

The World Bank (WB) team leader has visited the Mwalimu Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MNUAT) to inspect the progress of construction being implemented through the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project.
The visit, which took place at the MNUAT Main Campus in Butiama on October 25, 2024, was led by Prof. Roberta Malee from the World Bank, accompanied by QS. Nkahiga Mathus Kaboko and other representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.
The delegation expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of the construction and commended the University management for the effective and efficient supervision of the ongoing HEET project.
“We are extremely pleased and proud of the University here – MNUAT – for the progress that has been made regarding the construction of this new campus. The quality of the buildings is very impressive and the speed of which the buildings are rising is in such of a high rate. We have seen from a year and half ago nothing was here and now buildings are here, it is fantastic,” emphasized Prof. Roberta Malee.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Lesakit Mellau, informed the delegation that the university continues to make efforts to effectively implement the HEET project and address in a timely manner the emerging challenges to ensure that the construction meets its goals.
"We closely collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, the World Bank, and other higher education institutions implementing the HEET project to ensure that this project is completed within the stipulated time," stated Prof. Mellau.
The Mwalimu Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology is among the 22 institutions benefiting from the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) project, which is a loan from the World Bank to the Government of Tanzania.
